samuel.jpgThe Plymouth Raiders are delighted to announce the signing of Samuel Daniel in time for this Friday’s league opener against the Leicester Riders.

The 23-year-old forward, who hails from Kingsland, Georgia in the USA, perfected his trade under former BBL Head Coach, Billy Mims at Florida Tech, where, as a Senior he averaged an impressive 21 points and 6.38 rebounds a game.

Following his graduation, the 6’7” former Panther joined Minas in the Brazilian NBB, where last season he averaged 6.36 points and 2.36 rebounds in just over 12 minutes a game.

Raiders’ Head Coach, Paul James, said: “Having had the opportunity to access the squad during the Cup run, we identified the need to make a change, and following an excellent recommendation from Coach Mims, we felt Samuel was the right fit.

“He’s had a strong start in training, and gelled well, and we’re looking forward to seeing him in action this weekend”

On his joining the Raiders, Samuel added “First and always, all glory to God for always opening doors through any situation. I am really excited and thankful to be joining such a great club. 

“I’ve never felt more comfortable in my life, and I’m excited for what’s to come of this season. I expect great things happening for us here in Plymouth”

The Raiders tip off their league campaign against the Leicester Riders on Friday evening, and return to action at the Plymouth Pavilions on Sunday afternoon against the Newcastle Eagles, where tickets can still be purchased from
