He has a background in a variety of sports, especially football, squash and badminton, in which he played to county level. He was president of the Devon Wednesday Football League for 15 years and is currently the basketball representative on the Plymouth Sports Forum and the Plymouth Advisory Sports Council. Bob is a director of several local companies including Vospers Motor House and is Chairman of Crimestoppers. Phil Thorneycroft Director Phil joined the board over a year ago now and has already contributed significantly to the club’s off court development. A partner in Wolferstans legal practice in Plymouth, Phil has been a Raiders supporter for many years and his son Connall is Gavin love’s biggest fan. Iain Woodhead Director As with Phil, Iain joined the board last summer and has contributed significantly to the future direction of the club. He’s also Managing Director of The Cellar Supplies Company. Dave Briggs Chief Executive Dave joined the Raiders full time in June 2007 and is responsible for the day to day running of the club, finding sponsorship and financial support and doing the Marketing/public relations for the club. Dave used to play for the Raiders until he suffered a bad ankle injury and was recently running the development programme in his spare time. Gavin Love Head Coach Gavin Love’s career with the Plymouth Raiders stretched over 13 years, during which time, he established himself with a reputation as one of the top British point guards in the game. Mark Cahill Strength & Conditioning Coach Mark is a product of the Taunton Tigers basketball club, a late starter as a player at 16 years old. He developed quickly under the guidance of the Tigers’ coaches and regularly attended the Nike Basketball Camp held annually at Millfield School. It was through the camp system that Mark’s desire to improve as a player developed. Jamie Burchell Head of Schools and Community Jamie is the Plymouth Raiders newly appointed Head of Schools and Community. Jamie played for the Raiders between 1999 and 2008 and has been a member of the clubs’ full-time coaching staff since 2003. He studied at the University College of St Mark and St John and has a degree in Applied Sports Science/Coaching and Public Relations.
